SOME key officers of Globe Telecom recently completed this year’s Game for Global Growth (GGG) program, designed to accelerate the development of a strong regional talent pool across the SingTel Group. SingTel is a major shareholder of Globe.
Spearheaded by SingTel, GGG is aimed at enhancing participants’ abilities in executing and achieving transformation goals of the organization. The program also supports Globe Telecom’s thrust towards an integrated leadership development approach to build a strong leadership succession plan that will further strengthen business sustainability of the telecommunications provider.
“GGG forms part of our efforts to further strengthen our culture of excellence amid the challenges brought by constantly evolving technology for mobile telecommunications amid an intensely competitive environment,” Globe Chief Human Resource Officer Renato Jiao.
Specifically, the program offers participants key insights on how to:
- develop transformational growth strategies in line with the changing industry and market trends;
- shape an organization’s culture and design processes;
- develop goals for innovation driven growth; as well as
- formulate customer centric value propositions, business models and de-risk new ideas.
Participants in the program are also expected to master key tactics and leadership behaviors that foster cross-collaboration within the organization and provide a feel of the organizational culture of startups, incubators and research labs to create an understanding of the customer centric innovation process being followed.
The program, which included residency in Boston and Singapore, provided an avenue for participants to have discussions with world class research labs and corporate incubators. Aside from Globe Telecom, more than 20 participants from Optus, Telkomsel, AIS, and other telcos affiliated with SingTel also joined the program.
Participants from Globe Telecom for this year’s GGG program include Bernard Llamzon, head of consumer sales; Glenn Estrella, head of Globe digital media; Pebbles Sy-Manalang, head of product management; Vince Yamat, head of Corporate Strategy and Business Development; and Minette Navarrete, President of Kickstart Ventures, the incubator-investment unit of Globe Telecom.
