FOR the second consecutive year, leading telecommunications company Globe Telecom was hailed the Frost & Sullivan Philippines Mobile Service Provider of the Year following its outstanding performance throughout 2013.
Globe also took home the Philippines Infrastructure as a Service Provider of the Year Award which it also won last year. The awarding ceremonies were held at the Makati Shangri-la Manila.
Frost & Sullivan is a global business research and consulting firm that leverages over 50 years of experience in partnering with Global 1000 companies, emerging businesses, and the investment community. The Philippines Excellence Awards which is now in its fourth year, seeks to recognize companies and individuals that have pushed the boundaries of excellence – rising above the competition and demonstrating outstanding performance in the Philippines market.
“These awards will further inspire our employees and deepen our commitment to serve our customers and make them happy. We are happy and encouraged by what we have achieved in 2013, surpassing all our expectations. We will not be complacent and will strive harder for the rest of the year. Globe has always been and will continue to be firmly committed in creating more value for our customers and shareholders,” said Gil B. Genio, Globe Chief Operating Officer for Business and International Markets.
Globe sustained growth momentum in 2013 as core net profit rose 13% to P11.6 billion as strong performance of its mobile, broadband, and fixed line data businesses continued to drive revenue growth notwithstanding the onslaught of natural calamities in the last quarter of the year.
On the other hand, the company’s consolidated service revenues for 2013 reached a fresh record high of P90.5 billion, up 9% from P82.7 billion last year. The robust top-line results prove Globe Telecom’s sustained execution excellence of products and promotions that remain relevant to its subscribers, backed by its improved network performance, as it moves forward in its network and IT transformation programs.
In 2011 and 2012, Globe emerged first in the Broadband Service Provider of the Year category while it received the Telecom Service Provider of the Year recognition two years ago.
