WORKERS condemned President Benigno ‘Nnoynoy’ Aquino for giving away PhilHealth cards to promote his senatoriables in the elections.
Elmer “Bong” Labog, KMU chairperson, said Aquino’s distribution of PhilHealth cards in this manner is a form of partisan campaigning.
Private-sector workers contribute the most to PhilHealth’s funds.He is using workers’ and the public’s money for partisan purposes, Labog said.
“Aquino is privatizing the country’s public hospitals and is not genuinely concerned with the health of the poor. He is distributing PhilHealth cards only for election purposes,” he said.
Labog also deplored Comelec chair Sixto Brillantes Jr. for defending Aquino’s distribution of PhilHealth cards in the campaign sorties of the administration’s senatoriables.
The Comelec chair has just shed all pretenses of neutrality and objectivity. He is making it clear that he is taking the side of the president and the administration’s bets, Labog.
