CHILD welfare group, Akap Bata Party-List will launch GRAD FEE MONITOR 2013, a hotline that will receive reports and complaints against collection of graduation fees and non-academic requirements for graduation on public elementary and high schools nationwide.
The said launch tomorrow will be held exactly one month before the actual graduation season will also mark start for their group to receive calls from the public.
The group said GRAD FEE MONITOR 2013 will remind school administrators, parents, teachers, non-teaching personnel and graduating students that the Department of Education released last February 14 the DepEd Order # 9, series of 2013 prohibiting collection of graduation fees on public elementary and high schools.
The said newly-released order also prohibits non-academic projects as requirement for graduation.
During the launch, Akap Bata Party-List will explain the mechanics and confidentiality clauses of their monitoring desk and at the same time their plans to all the complaints that they will be receiving.
After the activity, the group will start posting the GRAD FEE MONITOR 2013 hotline posters on nearby public elementary and high school as part of their information-dissemination drive.
