MEMBERS of urban poor group Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (KADAMAY) will stage a picket-protest at the office of the Commission on Audit (CoA) along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City today, Sept. 27 at 10:30 am to seek probe on Aquino’s annual P10-Billion Informal Settler Fund.
This before the House of Representatives will deliberate on the passage of the national budget including Aquino’s P1.4T pork barrel.
The group said they will seek the agency’s investigation on President Aquino’s Informal Settler Fund which is worth P10-B every year since 2011. According to the group, the budget is by now worth P25-B, two and a half year since its first release, supposedly for the housing program of informal settlers.
KADAMAY is also calling for an investigation on funds used to finance anomalous contracts entered by the government with New San Jose Builders, Inc in constructing off-city relocation sites. The owner of NSJB, Inc is Jerry Acuzar, brother-in-law of Paquito Ochoa, Executive Secretary of President Aquino.
They will stage a 30-minute program outside the COA compound, as they hand in their letter of request for investigation.
