TULOY ang trabaho at imbestigasyon ni Justice Secretary Leila de Lima sa pork barrel scam kahit makailang ulit siyang bina-bypass ng Commission on Appointments (CA).
Ayon kay Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda, hindi magiging hadlang sa trabaho ng kalihim ang hindi pagkumpirma sa kanya ng CA.
“She has not been confirmed for the longest time so she will do her job in spite of the fact that she’s not been confirmed for the longest time; she has continuously done her job regardless of who gets affected, or who’s involved,” ani Sec. Lacierda sabay sabing “Secretary Leila de Lima will continue to do her job regardless of whether she has been confirmed or not. She will do her job based upon the instructions of the President and the instructions are to investigate wherever the evidence leads to.”
Sinabi pa ni Sec. Lacierda na maraming trabaho si Sec. de Lima na dapat tapusin at kung may concerns aniya ang CA sa Kalihim ay handa naman niya itong sagutin.
“But confirmation is one process. Secretary Leila de Lima has to do her job and as Secretary of Justice, she will continue to do her job regardless of whether the confirmation process has not been finished,” aniya pa rin.
Hindi naman aniya nababahala ang Pangulong Aquino kung hindi pa rin makumpirma ng CA si de Lima dahil ang importante aniya sa Punong Ehekutibo ay ang patuloy na trabahong ginagampanan at tinatapos ng kalihim.
Samantala, bukod kay de Lima, hindi pa rin nakakapasa sa butas ng karayom ng CA sina Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Ramon Paje, Social Welfare and Development Secretary Corazon “Dinky” Soliman at Energy Sec. Jericho Petilla.
Sina De Lima, Paje at Soliman ay na-bypass at muling itinalaga ni Pangulong Aquino simula nang i-appointment noong 2010.
Sa kaso naman ni dating DILG Jesse Robredo na hindi nakumpirma ng CA hanggang sa namatay ay sinabi ni Sec. Lacierda na “You know, we followed our process from the Americans. In Federal Constitution of the United States, they have an advice and consent. Here we have a confirmation process. It has to go the process. Is it hypocritical for them? They may have legitimate reasons why they still want to ask questions to the Cabinet secretary and we should grant them that. But, again, I cannot speak for the legislators. I can only speak for our Cabinet officials. What we are certain is that our Cabinet officials, those who are yet to be confirmed, have continuously done their job magnificently and perform to the best of their abilities.”
