“Flying Dutchmen” campaigning for human rights in the Philippines: A “portent of doom” for the crimes of the US-Aquino regime

THE Aquino regime continued to harp on the spin about the violence (which the police clearly started)  during the recent State of the Nation Address, blatantly covering up the fact that the Aquino regime itself is a violent regime and purveyor of state terrorism against its own people, said the International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines (ICHRP).

Peter Murphy, ICHRP General-Secretary, said the figures are always there available for everyone to read:  142 cases of extrajudicial killings, 164 cases of frustrated extrajudicial killings, 16 cases of enforced disappearances, 3 cases of rape of minors by state security forces, more than 300 political prisoners, among a lengthening list of the crimes of the Aquino regime.

“We held our very successful International Conference for Human Rights and Peace in the Philippines last July 19-21, and we have formed the International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines, in order to respond to the cries of the victims of Aquino’s US-inspired brutal and dirty war against the Filipino people.

“The mobilization of the Filipino workers, peasants, women, indigenous peoples, urban poor, youth and students, LGBTs, Filipino migrants, church people, and local human rights defenders, further deepened our commitment and resolve to defend the political, economic, civil and social rights of the vast majority of the Filipino people against the brutal attacks of the Aquino regime, and its continued violation of international human rights conventions and humanitarian laws.

“Indeed, we have been called the “flying Dutchmen” the patriotic and democratic movement of the Filipino people. Together with the Filipino people, our campaign for human rights and democracy in our own countries is, indeed, a “portent of doom” for the anti-people, pro-haciendero, pro-foreign big business, and pro-US Aquino regime,” Murphy said.
