WITH a blackout affecting large parts of Luzon, and the ‘source code’ of the Automated Election System practically no longer open to a review, the youth group Anakbayan warned against massive ‘AEF’ or ‘Automated Election Fraud’ on Monday.
“We are 100% sure that today’s blackout is a dress rehearsal for Monday’s elections. But a power outage is merely ‘Plan B’, or a back-up plan to the AEF of the Aquino administration” said Vencer Crisostomo, national chairperson of Anakbayan.
According to the youth leader, the announcement of Comelec commissioner Sixto Brillantes that the ‘source code’ would now be open for review this week was ‘all for show’.
“Pampapogi lang. It’s way too late for that at this point in the election period. How long did a source code review take in 2010? Four, five months? Tapos the Comelec will allow a review less than a week before Election Day?” he said.
“Brillantes’ statement that the review can continue after the elections is a joke. By the time the source code review is finished and major errors are discovered, all the ‘winners’, fraudulent or otherwise, would have been already sworn in. Or is the Comelec promising that they will annul the poll results if any cheating is discovered?” added the youth leader.
Directed against progressives
According to Anakbayan, what they have dubbed ‘Oplan 12-0’ will not just have the objective of a sweep for administration candidates for the Senate. It will also be for a shut-out of progressives running in the Senate and the partylist system.
“Noynoy and the Comelec’s devious scheme is as much to keep out the likes of Teddy Casiño in the Senate, as it is to put the likes of Bam Aquino and Risa Hontiveros into power” said Crisostomo.
Casiño, an independent who is currently on his last term as a partylist congressman, is being supported by the youth group for his stance and platform on issues of accessible education and other social services, Internet freedom, generation of decent jobs, genuine agrarian reform, among others.
“Even if he is just one, they are afraid of Teddy’s impact on the elite-dominated, anti-poor mainstream politics of the Senate” said the youth leader.
