MORE than 3,000 families or about 13,000 individuals in North Eastern Mindanao region have been temporarily displaced from their homes due to rains brought by Tropical Depression Bising, government reports said Saturday.
Latest update released by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said that these affected people came from seven towns and two cities in Caraga, Western Mindanao and SOCCSKSARGEN regions.
The NDRRMC reports said that about 1,880 families or 7,566 people have been moved to at least 25 evacuation centers put-up by disaster agencies and local government units in the affected regions.
The Pagmam-an Brigde in Brgy. San Jose in Bislig were rendered impassable to all types of vehicles due to heavy rains causing the rerouting of trips bound to Bislig and Mangagoy to San Francisco town in Agusan del Sur.
The reports said no casualties have been recorded so far from Tropical Depressing Bising, but has caused heavy damage to Nurcia Integrated School Science and Laboratory in Lanuza, Surigao del Sur.
Storm Signal No. 1 have been hoisted in the provinces of Camarines Norte and Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Western Samar and Eastern Samar, the Ndrrmc reports said.
