THE National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) on Thursday urges local government units (LGU’s) and local police in Metro Manila for strict implementation of ordinances imposing curfews among minors.
The NCRPO made the reiteration as Metro Manila residents were alarmed by series of reported cases of missing children giving rise to urban legend that children are being ‘kidnap’ and later sold for their organs or to childless couples.
“It’s not a proposal, but a reiteration for our call for the strict implementation of curfew and there are existing city ordinances for that,” Ncrpo spokesperson, Chief Insp. Kimberly Molitas told reporters in Camp Crame.
The Ncrpo spokespersons said that their call for strict curfew implementation is not only for all police units in the metropolis, but also to all LGU’s, village officials and other concerned groups or organizations in Metro Manila.
“There is existing ordinances for curfew among minors and we need the barangay chairmen and tanods to help us implement it. Its’ important that they also help with its implementation,” Molitas said.
The Ncrpo along with the CIDG’s “Task Force Sagip Anghel” are closely coordinating in investigating some of the reported cases of missing children in Metro Manila.
The Ncrpo official said that the strict implementation of curfew among minors would also a big deterrence to keep children away from being victimizes by criminals or involved in criminal activities.
