AT least five persons were reportedly hurt when a motorcycle laden bomb explodes Monday morning near a restaurant in a remote village in Lanao del Norte, police reports said on Tuesday.
Reports at the PNP national operations center in Camp Crame said the explosion occurred at around 11:05am at a restaurant along Purok G-A, Poblacion Tubod in Lanao del Norte.
The report identified the five persons hurt in the explosion as Saipoden Omar Bucay; Judith Padilla Gomez; Pamel Dalman; Cherrie Molina Barnaldez and Peter Dela Vega, all from Iligan City.
Injured persons were brought to the Lanao del Norte Integrated
Provincial Health Office for treatment.
Investigation revealed that explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) that was installed on a motorcycle that was left parked just across the restaurant, reports said.
Authorities are still conducting an investigation to determine the IED components and the suspects behind the blast, reports said.
