POLICE operatives have seized on Wednesday morning a cache of firearms and ammunition after swooping down on a businessman’s house in a remote village in Apalit, Pampanga, reports said.
Camp Crame reports said that firearms cache was seized after CIDG operatives raided Wednesday morning the house of Ricardo Bonifacio at Brgy. Sampaloc, Apalit, Pampanga.
CIDG Region 3 chief, Senior Supt. Elmo Francis Sarona said that the raid on Bonifacio’s house was covered by a search warrant issued by Executive Judge Angelo Perez of Regional Trial Court of Cabanatuan City.
Sarona said that their operatives were able to seized from Bonifacio’s house a cal. 30 rifle; a caliber 38 rifle; a 9mm Uzi machine pistol, six magazines for 9mm; five magazines for cal. 30 rifles and hundreds of rounds of various types of ammunition.
The CIDG official sad that raid was also part of the PNP’s campaign against loose firearms and also inline with the government’s effort in securing the upcoming mid-term elections this May.
