THE Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said that thirteen former members and police officers accused in P400 million ghost repairs in 2007 are now in their custody at Camp Crame.
PNP Public Information chief, Senior Supt. Reuben Theodor Sindac said the taking custody of the 13 were base on ordered issued by the Sandiganbayan’s Fourth Division.
The 13 are accused in the various cases filed before the anti-graft court.
Sandiganbayan over the weekend has formally transferred the custody of the 13 accused to the PNP thru Acting Chief Judicial Staff Officer Albert Dela Cruz.
Detained ath PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame were former PNP chief, Avelino Razon Jr.,former NCRPO, Geary Barias; former comptroller Eliseo de la Paz and former PNP National Headquarters-Bids and Awards Committee chair Reynaldo Varilla.
The other former police officials Reynaldo Varilla; Charlemagne Alejandrino; Emmanuel Ojeda; Reuel Leverne Labrado; Alex Barrameda; Nancy Basallo; Patricia Enaje; Ma. Theresa Narcise; Analee Forro; and Josefina Dumanew.
PNP Headquarters Support Service (HSS) Director, Chief Supt Samuel Yordan said all the accused are subject to existing rules and regulations governing persons under custody.
Twenty other respondents were not yet accounted, but Sindac said the cases filed against them were bailable.
The Sandiganbayan has recently issued an arrest warrant against Razon and 32 others over the fictitious repair and maintenance of light armored vehicles worth P400 million in 2007.
The CIDG filed cases of alleged anomalous procurement/work orders conducted by the PNP Logistics Support Service (LSS) for the year 2007 Repairs/Refurbishing of 28 V-1150 LAVs involving the total amount of P409,740,000.
