MAKUKUHA na ng 85 retiradong prosecutor ng Departent of Justice ang kanilang retirement pay.
Sa isinumiteng memorandum nina DOJ Assistant Secretary for Finance Zabedin Azis at Prosecutor-General Claro Arellano kay Secretary Leila De Lima, inilabas ng Department of Budget and Management ang mahigit na P246-M na pondo ay bilang bahagi ng Pension and Gratuity Fund.
“This is a welcome development for the Department, specifically the National Prosecution Service (NPS), and especially for the prosecutors who had worked so hard and had relentlessly dedicated the best time of their lives to uphold the rule of law,” sabi ni de Lima.
Ang mga retiradong piskal mula 2010 hanggang 2012 ay makakakulekta ng kanilang retirement gratuity differential o 5-year lump sum retirement pay.
Si dating Cadiz City Prosecutor Marcelo del Pilar, na pumanaw na noong April 4, 2013 dahil sa atake sa puso ay isa sana sa makakuha ng lump sum pay ngunit ang kanyang pamilya na lamang ang tatanggap nito na nagkakahalaga ng P4, 135,167.68.
Gagawin ang pagkuwenta o kalkulasyon ng retirement pay alinsunod sa R.A. 10071 o National Prosecution Service Act.
