MAKABAYANG Koalisyon ng Mamamayan in Quezon City urged the public to vote wisely on May 13, for the national midterm election.
Makabayan QC Vice Chair and Bantay Daya Spokesperson Jong Asilo, also revealed the criteria for political candidates who wanted their support for the upcoming elections.
“These criteria came from our ten point program, and we wanted these candidates to be in the forefront of the people’s struggle for a genuine political change,” Asilo added.
Also, Asilo insisted that they will not support politicians who are involved in different illegal activities such as vote buying, narco-politics, and were involved in any election related fraud and violence in the past elections.
Asilo also vehemently condemned the recent violence in Lanao Del Norte and Cavite where many are killed and wounded because of politically motivated violence.
Meanwhile, Mark Lui Aquino, Secretary General of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan NCR Aquino also revealed that there are some politicians who are involve in illegal drug trade business and uses “drug money” as part of their campaign funds.
“We strongly urge Director General Arturo Cacdac of PDEA to show us the list, if there are any of politicians in local or in national level that are involved in narco-politics”.
PDEA recently reported that trafficking of shabu and other illegal narcotics is being tolerated and is rampant in Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City.
“The people will be the one to expose and unveil their masks,” Aquino said.
“Moreover, we will not support instead expose these traditional parties and politicians who uses and take advantage of their positions for personal agenda instead of creating pro-people legislations and create decent jobs for the masses.
“The verdict is on May 13, we will vote and vigilantly watch for our votes,” Aquino said.
