THE Navotas City Traffic and Parking Management Office (CTPMO)  has lead last Thursday a meeting with the key departments of the local government unit and national government agencies who will be rendering services during the observance of Holy Week in the city this year (April 16-20).

“The main objective of this preparation is to render immediate assistance to motorists, visitors and devotees who will be in distress while travelling along major roads of Navotas during the said event particularly on April 17 and 18 when Visita Iglesia and Sacrament of Penance will be observed,” Acting CTPMO Chief Ret. PNP Navotas also presented their deployment plan for their public assistance desks and mobile and foot patrol near the six Catholic churches as well as all entry and exit points in the city.

PO1 Hilandrious Jonnah R. Bechaida said, “we will be observing three overlapping and rotating schedules on the said dates and identified areas to assure police visibility and to prevent crimes.”

Meanwhile, Acting CTPMO Chief Militar who also head the Local Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office (LDRRMO) of Navotas requested the Public Information Office to disseminate the scheduled water interruption in Barangays Bangkulasi, North Bay Boulevard North, North Bay Boulevard South and San Rafael Village on April 16 – 19.

“Maynilad has agreed to resume water supply on the said dates from 9:00 PM –4:00 AM upon the request of City Mayor John Rey Tiangco, however, public must still be advised to store enough water during the said duration,” he said.

In anticipation of a worse scenario, LDRRMO has already coordinated with Bureau of Fire Protection Navotas and other fire volunteer groups in the city to prepare for delivery of water supply to affected barangays.
