A government militiaman was abducted by four still unidentified armed men who then shot him to death Friday afternoon in a remote village in Agusan del Sur, police reports said Sunday.
Reports sent by the Caraga police to the PNP national operations center in Camp Crame identified the victim as Danilo Bacudan, 44, and a militiaman of the army’s 23rd Infantry Battalion.
The reports said the abduction and shooting incident occurred at around 2pm Friday at Brgy. Awao, Sta. Josefa in Agusan del Sur.
The victim was having a drinking session with some of his relatives and comrades when the suspects arrived and took him to a nearby forest, report said.
The reports said that the victim tried to escape but was shot in his leg and head by the suspects who then fled towards still unknown direction.
Responding police recovered from the scene three empty shells and three deformed slugs of AK-47 assault rifle, popular among rebels, and empty shells of caliber 45 pistols, reports said.
The reports said police are now conducting an investigation and pursuit operations for possible identification and arrest of suspects.
