AN old man was stabbed to death by a drunk neighbor over a meal Tuesday afternoon in a remote village in Surigao del Sur, police reports said Wednesday.
Reports reaching Camp Crame identified the victim was Nestor Gupo, 75, and suspect was Vicente Patron, both are from Purok Sun Flower, Brgy. Gamut, Tago.
The reports said the stabbing incident occurred at around 2pm inside the victim’s house were he was having his meal when the drunk suspect arrived.
Under heavy influence of liquor the suspect stabbed the old man six times in the chest and left arm killing him instantly, reports said.
The reports said the suspect escaped immediately after the incident but was apprehended by pursuing policemen of Tago Police office.
Recovered in the crime scene was a scabbard used by the suspect while investigation revealed personal grudge was the motive for the attack, reports said.
